REVOLT TV aired a 24-hour Beats Music marathon highlighting the star-studded 2014 Grammy weekend concert that marked its official launch. The special, titled “It Was A Good Day, Beats Music Presents: The Live 90’s Hip Hop Playlist,” was held at the prestigious Belasco in Los Angeles, CA yesterday, and became an instant classic, headlined by the Geto Boys and industry icons such as Dr. Dre, Eminem, Nas, Puff Daddy, Ice Cube and Mase, featuring additional performances by Cypress Hill, Busta Rhymes, Method Man & Redman, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Souls of Mischief, and Fatlip & Slimkid (formerly of The Pharcyde). Each of these legendary superstars performed one song, resulting in a perfectly curated playlist brought to life and featuring the very best of 90s hip-hop- an experience only Beats Music could bring.
The hot-ticket party reached the over-capacity mark somewhere around the hour of 11:00 pm, which left luminaries like Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino and Queen Latifah waiting behind the velvet rope for longer than just the normal beat before being waved in by Beats principals, and dozens of others left shut out entirely.
